Writing for IIC

Writing for Studies in Conservation

We invite contributions from all those involved in the conservation of cultural heritage and related activities. Areas of interest include: advances in conservation practice, novel methods of treatment, conservation issues in display and storage, preventive conservation, issues of collection care, conservation history and ethics, and the history of materials and technological processes, examination methods for works of art, new research in the analysis of artistic materials and mechanisms of deterioration.

Scientific content is not necessary, and the editors encourage the submission of treatment and practical articles, review papers, position papers on best practice and the philosophy and ethics of collecting and preservation, to help maintain the traditional balance of the journal.

If you would like to write for Studies in Conservation, first consult the Instructions for Authors and then submit your full article using our online system. It is the same process for submitting a paper already accepted for IIC congress preprints, and accepted or invited for special issues of Studies in Conservation.

If your uncertain whether your idea for a paper is suitable for the journal, then email the Editor-in-Chief, Dr C L Reedy clreedy@udel.edu or the Director of Publications, Dr J Townsend Joyce.townsend@tate.org.uk or to discuss your proposal.
