Welcome Reception

The opening ceremony will be held on 23 September 2024 and a 'welcome reception' will be hosted in the evening at MAC, Museo de Arte Contemporáneo in Lima. 

The Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of Lima has its roots in the Institute of Contemporary Art (IAC), established in 1955. By the late 1980s, the IAC decided to build a space to house its collection, leading to the creation of this unique museum in the city. It wasn't until 2013 that the museum was officially founded, to promote the dissemination of modern and contemporary art. It is located in the district of Barranco, a few meters from the Congress headquarters, and will host an important retrospective of the renowned Peruvian painter Ramiro Llona for the welcoming reception.
