Conservation of Composite Objects: Compounded Challenges & Diverse Treatments
Abstracts of up to 250 words are invited for submission by Friday 15th September 2017.
The Icon Metals Group one-day conference will focus on the conservation of composite objects. Under discussion will be challenges related to the assessment, conservation, display and storage of composite objects and structures with a metal component. We invite submissions from public and private practitioners, teachers and researchers who have experience of working with composite objects.
Papers are invited for 20-minute presentations on the challenges of composite objects with a view to generate discussion of:
Adverse interactions of materials within an object
Display and storage of composites - problems and possible solutions
Conflicting treatment requirements
Decision-making and prioritisation
Complex cases - how objects are assessed and treated
Collaborative working to deliver different conservator skill sets
Please submit abstracts (up to 250 words) to Dr Nicola Emmerson (firstname.lastname@example.org) by Friday 15th September 2017.
