You may have missed our invitation to attend the IIC Fellowship meeting at the IIC 2016 Congress in Los Angeles, so we are re-sending this. Please read on ...
The meeting will be held at 12.30 pm on Wednesday 14th September, 2016 at the Congress venue, the Millennium Biltmore Hotel, Los Angeles. This is an opportunity for you to get together with other Fellows and to share common issues over a relaxed, informal lunch. The meeting will last for about an hour. You can read more about the 2016 Los Angeles Congress here.
This is primarily a social occasion; we will also introduce one or two topics for discussion. One of these is your place in IIC and in your profession. You are a highly respected member of your profession as a conservator, a scientist, perhaps a historian, or some other role: to us, you are a highly valued member of IIC. So How can we help each other? How can we involve you in our work? One suggestion, introduced at the 2014 Congress in Hong Kong, is the proposed IIC Fellowship mentoring programme. This links very nicely with a question and answer feature proposed for the IIC website. But you may have your own ideas for an active Fellowship and we really want to hear about them.
If you are unable to attend, your ideas or offers to help develop this scheme, or any other where IIC Fellows could make a contribution, are still most welcome. Please send your suggestions to Cornelia Weyer (email@example.com), Valentine Walsh (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Graham Voce in the IIC office (email@example.com) before the Los Angeles congress (and ideally before 6th September) to contribute to the discussion.
