It is difficult to assure alignment when joining separated pars of panel paintings. One can succeed, at least partially, by employing the apparatus described here, which facilitates positioning and correcting distortion before applying the glue. When one has found the best position, the gliding parts of the apparatus allow the panels to be separated and re-joined exactly after applying the glue.
