The IIC website is using terms and concepts from the Getty thesauri:

In some cases members may find that the recommended terms by these thesauri are not suitable for the concepts they are meant to describe. However, we would like to use these recommended terms for consistency. Using consistent terminology improves the searching experience on the website.
