IIC has always worked with those who are new to the profession and welcomes participation by those who are the future of our profession. Student participation in IIC has always been welcomed, and we were delighted to offer a new way for this to happen.
Student Posters - a new departure
As we have mentioned above, this year we hosted a new session to provide a peer-reviewed platform for research and work on conservation projects that is being undertaken by students and recent graduates. This was a new opportunity for those who are starting out in the conservation arena to take part in conservation’s international showcase. As well as the display of posters, there was a programmed session giving delegates the opportunity to speak to poster authors.
We are very grateful to the Student Poster Committee, who worked so hard at making this part of the Congress happen. The Committee were:
- Amber Kerr – Lunder Conservation Fellow at the Smithsonian American Art Museum; Washington, USA
- Maram Nasr Moh'd Na'es – studying at the Courtauld Institute of Art Department of Wall Painting Conservation, London, UK
- Laura Brill – studying at the Conservation Centre of the Institute of Fine Arts at New York University, USA
- Colleen Snyder – studying at Buffalo State College Art Conservation Department, USA.
