Sculpture on the Highway - Restoring Vermont's Hidden National Treasure (webinar)
Thursday, March 27, 2025
2:00-3:30 PM
Bob Hannum will provide an overview of the exciting restoration of Vermont's newly declared national treasure. It's a collection of 16 monumental sculptures created 50 years ago by artists from all over the world and placed in rest areas along I-89 and I-91. His team began conservation work in May 2024 in consultation with the Getty Conservation Institute and with generous grant funding from the Save America's Treasures program. Learn about this fascinating project and help solve some lingering mysteries!
Presented by:

His art conservation experience includes many aspects of contemporary sculpture and hanging art installation, restoration, and maintenance including graffiti removal, water and smoke disaster restoration, gilded and plaster frame repair, cleaning grave markers, and ceramic restoration.
