Research scholarship on materials and techniques used to produce medieval polychromies on sculpture.

The work includes the examination and documentation of the polychrome surface of the sculptures, followed by the sampling, the mounting, and the analytical characterization of microsamples of polychromies. The research will take place at the Museu Nacional de Arte Antiga, in Lisbon, and at the Department of Conservation and Restoration of NOVA School of Science and Technology, in Caparica, under the scientific coordination of Dr Isabel Pombo Cardoso.

The candidates must be enrolled in a Ba/BSc, master, or PhD program, or in a course provided by an University. Evidence of this situation must be presented, at the latest, up to the stage of contracting the grant.
