SRAL (Stichting Restauratie Atelier Limburg) is looking to expand the team of conservators with two colleagues.

Conservator of paintings, polychrome sculptures and painted objects
Conservator of paintings, historic interiors and painted objects

Working at SRAL:
SRAL is a dynamic conservation institute in the south of the Netherlands. With our team of conservators we carry out conservation treatments in a cross-over between the specializations: polychrome sculptures, paintings on different supports, modern art, murals and historical interiors. An important part is conducting (preliminary) research into applied art techniques, paint cross-sections, context of the artwork and decision-making about the treatment. SRAL also provides structural advice for preventive conservation.

Major projects such as the Nicolaaskapel on the Valkhof in Nijmegen, the Crucifix by Jan van Steffeswert, the painted ceiling pieces in Paleis het Loo and the complete historic interior of the Maastricht City Hall are among our assignments. We offer conservators the opportunity to specialize in cross-over areas between the in-house specialisms.

As an institute we participate in conservation education. We offer workshops to train young conservators as well as mid-career professionals in conservation methods and techniques developed at SRAL. We are actively involved in the developments of the field – nationally and internationally.

Our head office in the Wiebengahal in Maastricht has several conservation studios, a training studio and research facilities. In the Bonnefanten next door, we work in the 'open studio' on the 1st floor next to the exhibition spaces of the museum. In addition, a lot of work is done on location, depending on the projects. This can vary from churches and museums in Limburg to historic interior spaces throughout the Netherlands.
