Extended deadline IGIIC | Call for papers: Ceramics in the emergency, from the emergency intervention to the restoration

The deadline to submit abstract as a speaker for the next study day dedicated to Ceramics in the emergency has been extended to January 20, 2025 with an integration on the topics that will be covered that will concern the "Problems of conservation and protection of ceramics in the archaeological context in emergency".

The fourth edition of the biennial study days organized by the MIC and the IGIIC will be dedicated to the theme of Ceramics in the emergency, from the emergency intervention to the restoration.

The study day is open to proposals for intervention that take into consideration the various aspects of the ceramic material in relation to the emergency:

  • Catastrophic event prevention and management
  • Methods of recovery and handling of the ceramic artifact in emergency contexts
  • Suffering ceramic materials how to intervene after the first emergency? Specific interventions on the fragility of the damaged material
  • Organization and security of spaces for the shelter of goods
  • Management strategies for the relocation of the restored ceramic artifact
  • Problems of conservation and protection of ceramics in the archaeological context in emergency
