‘Online Outreach and Public Engagement in Heritage Conservation’.

Date: 19 May 2022, 13:00-14:30 (CEST)

Led by IIC: Sarah Stannage FRSA and Ellie Sweetnam

Promoting public understanding, involvement, and appreciation of conservation, especially within the digital space, is an incredibly important way to inform, inspire, and contextualise our work as conservators and conservation professionals.

From community building to storytelling and communicating impact, the workshop will examine a diverse collection of approaches and case studies with shared insights from previous Keck Award winners, to delivering effective online engagement and outreach activities.

Workshop Format

The workshop will include a presentation, 5-6 case studies and a showcase of short films from IIC Fellows, conservators from around the world including previous award winners, providing their top tips for online engagement and public outreach. The session will also include a 40-45 minute fun and informal workshop task for participants to take part in.

How to participate

We are looking forward to welcoming participants from the Young Professionals Forum including a number of IIC student and early career members, who have already signed up for the workshop. Do get in touch if you would like to join the workshop. You can view the full programme here.

All material will be made available for IIC members to view on the IIC Community platform in the 'Resources' section, shortly after the workshop in May.
