The updated version of the Modular Cleaning Program (version 10) is ready for release. This update adds: the creation of
emulsions with xanthan and Pemulen; addition of cosolvents to aqueous systems; phase diagrams for mineral spirits-based
microemulsions; a new tool to compare a mixture of solvents with another solvent in Hansen space; working with solvent mixtures and Hansen spheres; the addition of a number of “green solvents”; and lots of bug fixes.
As always, the MCP is available to conservators free of charge. You must register with Chris Stavroudis to get the Dropbox URL and password to unlock the program.
There will be a Zoom session on using the MCP computer program, particularly the new features, on Monday, August 31 and
repeating on Thursday, September 3. The Zoom room will open at 7:30 AM US Pacific Daylight Time (UTC-7) with the session
beginning promptly at 8:00. The session should last about 1 1/2 hours but will stay open until everyone gets bored. To register,
please email Chris at email@example.com with your preference for Monday or Thursday.
