To celebrate the publication of the proceedings of the first three editions of "Linee di Energia" conference, an initiative promoted by Centro Conservazione e Restauro "La Venaria Reale", the IGIIC Association - Italian Group of the International Institute for Conservation together with Intesa Sanpaolo, propose a reflection on the contexts of artistic production in the second half of the 20th century, in relation to the current strategies of conservation and presentation of works of art.
Following the structure of previous events (Oltre il quadro. Forme e sperimentazioni degli anni Sessanta, 16-17 February 2017; Oltre il museo. La radicalizzazione delle ricerche artistiche degli anni, 12-13 April 2018; Gli annoi Ottanta, verso altri orizzonti, May 16-17, 2019), the meeting will start with a discussion between Artissima, historians and art critics, museum and education curators, conservators and restorers.
The presence of different perspectives is intended to fuel an exchange of views on the meaning of the work, its historical dimension and, more generally, on the possibilities of survival and transmission of its elements, both material and immaterial.
In the context of Artissima, which provides contact with contemporary art production and its protagonists, the meeting – which constitutes the 2020 edition of "Linee di Energia" - will encourage guests to reflect on how current artistic production proposes a dialogue between "consumption" and "conservation" of cultural, technical and visual characteristics of the work, from a theoretical and concrete point of view.
At the end, the curators will present themes identified for the next edition of the conference scheduled for 2021.
