Online courses will start on April 19th:
• New: How should we act? Theory and ethics of conservation and its significance in practice, part 1
• Microbial Infestation of Objects of Art and Cultural Heritage
• The Examination of Transparent Coatings on Furniture and Wooden Objects
• Conservation of Globes
• Photography as a tool for documentation and examination

Following courses are in German language (tutoring in English possible):
• Konsolidieren von Holz. Möglichkeiten und Grenzen struktureller Festigung (Consolidation of wood - Possibilities and limits of structural consolidation)
• Kirchenräume und ihr Klima. Heizen, Lüften, Ausstattung schützen (Church rooms and their climate. Heating, ventilation, equipment protection)
• Sicherer Umgang mit kontaminiertem Kulturgut (Working safely with contaminated cultural heritage)
• Grundlagen der Holzkunde. Eigenschaften – Verwendung – Schäden – Untersuchungsmethoden erläutert am Beispiel von Eichenholz (Basic wood science Features - use - damage - examination methods explained by the example of oak)
• Saccharidische Bindemittel und Kleber (Saccharide Binding Media and Adhesives)
• Schädigung von Kulturgut durch Salze (Damage to Cultural Heritage from Salt)
• Erhaltung von Wachsmoulagen (Conservation of Wax Moulages)

Distant students will be granted a Hornemann Institute certificate upon successful completion of the program and passing a final online examination.

During the term of the course, a graduated conservator is available to all participants via e-mail.
