Call for Papers

The European Network for Conservation-Restoration Education (ENCoRE) is organising a one-day Conference in Porto, Portugal 13 May 2020, hosted by the Catholic University Porto, on the subject Specialisations: Trends and Challenges in Conservation-Restoration Education.

Call for Papers: The third ENCoRE conference on 13 May 2020 (preceding the ENCoRE General Assembly on 14-15 May) will be devoted to: Specialisations: Trends and Challenges in Conservation-Restoration Education. Papers are invited on topics related to the developments in the education and teaching of conservation specialisations, covering developments over past decades and current trends. Papers can address the various approaches and strategies that academic research-based teaching of various conservation specialisations and disciplines may take, dealing both with the integrated teaching of practical topics ("practice") and theory, as well as more theoretical aspects.

Some suggested topics are:
• Specialisations and career prospects/market
• Specialist vs generalist
• Defining specialisations
• Specialisations for the future of conservation
• Specialisations and regional demands
• Lack of specialization training possibilities
• Specialisation and continuous professional development (CPD)
• Specialisation and professional qualifications

Abstracts must be submitted by Sunday 5 April 2020 to conference@encore-edu.org

Abstracts should describe original, unpublished work. Abstracts must be submitted in Word Format. Abstracts must be written in ENGLISH and contain the following information:
• Author(s) full name(s)
• Contact author
• Affiliation
• Telephone number
• E-mail address
• Title of the paper
• Key words
• Abstract (max. 500 Words)

After evaluation of proposed contributions and the selection of papers, the program will be announced late April 2020. After the conference, the final deadline for submitting papers for publication will be Sunday 1 July. The papers will go through an editorial process for final selection of publication.
