Contamination in Repatriated Objects in African Museums:
A call for Safety Measures in the Handling and Display of the Objects

Repatriation is a topical issue which has seen African countries demanding the return of artefacts looted by countries in the global north during the colonisation of the continent. But with the return of these artefacts also comes the risk of exposure to harmful pesticides. After researching the current regulations around this issue, Davison Chiwara and his team have proposed new protocols and guidelines to safely handle, exhibit and store these objects.
