The thirteenth biennial North American Textile Conservation Conference (NATCC) will be virtual due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and its economic fallout. The theme of 'Outside Influences' seems to be particularly prescient given the events of the last 18 months and serves as a reminder that in today's interconnected society few things happen in isolation. Our work as conservators is subject to myriad outside influences, macro to micro. Subjects to be explored include politics, geography, training, workplace pressures and ethics.
The recorded presentations, including two keynote addresses, will be released on October 4th followed three weeks later by a series of live roundtable discussions and author question and answer sessions to be held each day during the week of October 25th. In addition, there will be 5 one-hour-long panel discussions that week covering a diverse range of topics featuring invited speakers.
The presentations are in English and Spanish with subtitles, the live sessions will have simultaneous translation.
