ITCC International Symposium 2025: Call for Poster Abstracts

Deadline for Poster Abstracts: 1 December 2024

We are pleased to announce a 2-day International Symposium, 12-13th May 2025, on the 'Conservation and Restoration of Paintings' to celebrate the 100th year anniversary of the Palace Museum, Beijing. 

The symposium will present recent research, projects and case studies in the conservation of easel oil paintings on canvas and wooden panels, wall paintings, traditional Chinese paintings and thangka paintings. The programme will be announced in the coming months, a special publication is also expected to follow the symposium.

The symposium precedes an IIC-ITCC training course for mid-career professionals on the same theme. For those interested in applying for the training course as well as the symposium please see further details about the application process here.

 

Special invitation for IIC Members and Regional Groups members

IIC members and IIC Regional Group members have the opportunity to present a poster in-person at the symposium, related to one of the following areas: easel oil paintings on canvas and wooden panels, wall paintings, thangkas, and traditional Chinese paintings. 

Preference will be given to individuals who are currently members of a Regional Group an IIC, intend to join IIC or renew their membership.

Please apply here and submit a short abstract (250 words) if you are interested in presenting a poster at the symposium or get in touch with the IIC Office, iic@iiconservation.org if you would like to discuss further.  A special publication of the proceedings is expected to follow the Symposium.

Support will be provided by the Palace Museum, Beijing to cover flights to Beijing as well as accommodation for up to 15 poster presenters to attend the two day symposium only. Selected poster presenters will be contacted by the end of December 2024 to enable enough time for visas to be arranged.The Palace Museum, Beijing, has secured the kind support of the Longfor Group as a generous sponsor for the three training courses in the ITCC series, 2024-2026, including the International Symposium planned for 2025.
