IIC Council Elections
IIC holds an Annual General Meeting, which every IIC Fellow, Honorary Fellow, Individual, including Retired Fellows and Individual Member, and Early Career member is invited to attend and is eligible to vote. Students and Institutional / Organisational members are also invited to attend but cannot vote at the meetings.
The Annual General Meeting is to allow Council (IIC’s directors and charity trustees) to explain their management of the Institute to the members and it also provides members with an opportunity to ask questions before voting on the business items on the agenda, and to elect, or re-elect, members of Council.
The next AGM will be held online and in London (venue to be confirmed) on Monday 27 January 2025 where the following roles will be elected to Council. A scope of work for each role is available to view by clicking on the role title. The following positions for election by the membership are:
Eligibility
IIC is an international body and continually seeks to represent an international variety of regions, cultures and disciplines on Council.
All IIC Council positions are for an initial term of three years’ duration and when elected each individual will be a trustee of a charity, and a director of a Company limited by guarantee, registered in England & Wales. Therefore all candidates must declare that they are eligible to be a Trustee and Director of IIC, and are able to comply with UK regulations as detailed here.
It is important to note that positions on Council are volunteer based and unremunerated. IIC Council meetings are held online with usually one meeting per year held as a hybrid meeting to enable Council members working and living in different regions around the world to participate remotely.
You do not necessarily need to be an IIC Fellow to be on IIC’s Council, each position identifies on the scope of work, whether being a Fellow of IIC is a requirement for the role. However, the President of IIC does need to be an IIC Fellow, the other roles identified for election in 2025 on IIC Council are open to IIC members who are eligible to vote. You can stand in more than one role for election and eligibility will be checked against each role.
