Membership

Being part of the international community that is IIC ...

IIC membership is open to everyone with an interest in conserving the world's heritage: to conservators and restorers, to conservation scientists, architects, educators and students, and to collection managers, curators, art historians and other cultural heritage professionals. Membership enables you to keep abreast of technical advances and to remain in contact with colleagues worldwide through IIC's publications (Studies in Conservation* and News in Conservation), this website with its news-feed and social networking links, the biennial conferences and the national and regional groups. Please see further down on this web page details about the benefits - and charges for - IIC membership

Finding others in IIC - the IIC Membership Directory

As a member of IIC you will be part of an international community of heritage conservation conservators and restorers. You can search the Membership Directory here. Please note that this search facility is only available to logged-in members of IIC.

How your IIC membership can help others

In addition to supporting the work of IIC itself, membership means that you can also help to support others in the international conservation community. You can do this by contributing to IIC’s other Funds when first joining IIC or when you renew each year on the web-site here; alternatively please contact the IIC Office for more ways of giving: Contact Page.

Here’s how we help others in our community:

The Opportunities Fund

IIC supports conservators and institutions who cannot afford the cost of membership through its Opportunities Fund. The fund is maintained through the generous contributions of IIC's members, and allows successful applicants to receive membership of IIC without charge, for a defined time.

By donating in this way you become an IIC World Member; your donation will be used to help support this valuable initiative for years to come.

More information about the Opportunities Fund, including an application form for supported members can be found here: Opportunities Fund.

The Brommelle Memorial Fund

IIC’s Brommelle Memorial Fund invests in the future of conservation by financially helping student members of IIC to take part in IIC’s conferences. Over the years we have seen many students move into the community and build on the research, experience and personal links that conference attendance can provide.

More information about the Brommelle Memorial Fund can be found here: Brommelle Memorial Fund.

The Keck Award Fund

The Keck Award, set up to recognise the individual or group who has in the opinion of the Council contributed most towards promoting public understanding and appreciation of the accomplishments of the conservation profession. This cash award supports those working to increase public awareness of the work we do and thus benefits all of us in the conservation community.

More information about the Keck Award Fund can be found here: The Keck Awards.
