IIC publications
For more than 50 years The International Institute for Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works has promoted the knowledge, methods and working standards needed to protect and preserve cultural heritage throughout the world. Our publications have always been at the very heart of what we do. We have a distribution list of over 2,500 members worldwide, and a much wider 'pass-on' readership among many of our institutional members such as museums, galleries, libraries, archives, universities, conservation studios, laboratories and heritage organisations. Our publications are read not just by practising conservators and conservation students, but also by conservation scientists, teachers, managers, curators, registrars, directors, administrators and conservation suppliers, as well as others with a more general interest in conservation. Uniquely, IIC's publications carry 'journal of record' status and reach an international audience, thus offering the ideal platforms for those wishing to make their presence felt in national and international conservation arenas. IIC's publications are the ideal vehicles to reach the growing community of heritage professionals across the globe:
- Studies in Conservation is the premier international journal in its field. Published four times a year, it contains original, peer-reviewed papers on advances in conservation, including both practical and scientific aspects, together with the latest research on historic materials, technical art history and methods of fabrication. It also presents authoritative reviews of the latest publications in the field. Every paper includes a summary in English, French, German and Spanish.
- Reviews in Conservation is the annual journal which surveys key areas of conservation and technical examination and encapsulates the current state of knowledge on selected subjects, with extensive bibliographies. The Editorial Advisory Board includes leading conservators and scientists from around the world.
- Every two months, IIC members receive News in Conservation, a lively, full-colour newspaper which presents the latest information and news about conservation worldwide, as well as about IIC and its members. It is the listing of choice for worldwide conservation meetings, seminars and courses, it advertises appointments, internships and fellowships, lists publications for sale and directs readers to further details on the IIC website. News in Conservation is considered a vital component of the membership package, and is also targeted at the conservation profession worldwide, making for uniquely in-depth audience coverage. Its completely new design (replacing the IIC Bulletin) is intended to open up conservation to the wider heritage arena and beyond, crossing the traditional barriers that have often hindered good communication. News in Conservation is a new platform enabling providers to promote their products and services to purchasers and key decision makers internationally.
Job listings on the IIC website
It is also possible to place 'classified' advertisements on the IIC website, including listings in our jobs section. This is the ideal way to advertise your job vacancy to our thousands of members worldwide. All classified advertisements, including appointments vacant, will be placed in full on the IIC website and may also be placed in the next available edition of News in Conservation.
