Benefits of membership

Membership of IIC brings many benefits, including:

Membership categories

There are four categories of membership:

Student membership is for those enrolled in a full-time programme of education, training or work experience under the supervision of a professional conservator. The current student member subscription is £19.

Individual membership is open to everyone who is interested in conservation. The current individual member subscription is £47.

Fellows are senior members of the profession who are elected by the existing body of Fellows. The current Fellows' subscription is £68. Click here to find out more about the criteria for fellowship, including an application form.

Institutional membership is intended for museum and galleries, libraries and archives, conservation schools, research institutes and commercial firms. The current institutional member subscription is £160.

Individual members, Fellows and Institutional members receive all IIC journals free of charge. Student members receive Reviews in Conservation and News in Conservation. All members can take advantage of discounts on other publications and reduced registration fees for the biennial IIC congress.

If you are joining IIC for the first time, please use this membership application form. If you are renewing your membership, please use the online renewal form instead. You must be logged in to the IIC website to renew your membership.

Professional Development Fund

IIC supports conservators who cannot afford the cost of membership through its Professional Development Fund. The fund is maintained through the generous contributions of our members, and allows successful applicants to receive three years' membership of IIC without charge.
