Conference Registration and Evening Drinks Reception at the Museum of London

Conference registration16:00-19:00
Evening drinks reception18:30-20:00

On the Sunday there will be an opportunity for delegates to register for the Congress at the Museum of London if you want to avoid the Monday morning queues at the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre. From 18:30 there will be an evening drinks reception to welcome everyone to the Congress.

London is one of the most vibrant cities in the world and the Museum of London tells its story. It provides remarkable insights into the history of the city and its people, beginning with the time when it was nothing but tundra and the local population would fit on a double-decker bus.

The Museum is open to the public on Sunday afternoon. The galleries will also be open to delegates until 19.30 that evening. Please note the Museum will close to the public at 17.50. Delegates may remain in the Museum to await the evening reception if they are wearing their conference badges.

Thames boat trip with buffet dinner

18:30-22:30

The Congress's gala boat trip will be splendid opportunity for delegates to see London at its best: the view from the river. Please join us for an evening cruise down the Thames on the flagship of the Silver Fleet, the Silver Sturgeon.

The Thames Riverboat Silver Sturgeon next to the Tower of London

We will depart from the Savoy Pier and cruise down the Thames to Greenwich, World Heritage site, passing en route many of London's historic buildings. We turn back at Greenwich and return to the Savoy Pier during darkness giving delegates the chance to see the illuminated spectacle of London's iconic buildings, old and new. A short commentary will be given on the down river trip for those not familiar with the London riverscape.

A sit-down buffet with wine will be served and a pay bar will also be available. We hope to have live music - so there may even be a little dancing!

The Silver Sturgeon is the flagship of the Silver Fleet. It has two salons with plenty of seating, an open deck area, a small dance floor, cloakroom facilities etc. There is excellent visibility from the salons and deck.
